In April 2025, we held the Inaugural Volunteer Appreciation Event in honor of Global Volunteer Month where we recognized all volunteers including those who received our first DFSA volunteer awards.

The Giving Time Award: Margaret Godfrey

From April 2024 to 2025, Margaret Godfrey was a cornerstone of DFSA, logging the most volunteer hours with grace and poise. A talented ballroom dancer, she brings a unique elegance and calm to the boutique, helping countless women find their confidence. Even after starting a new job, Margaret continues to serve on the 2nd Saturday of each month. We are deeply grateful for her warmth, her dedication as an ambassador, and the intentional heart she brings to empowering others.

The Versatile Volunteer Award: Dina Sherzer

Dina Sherzer is a longtime supporter of DFSA defined by her "can-do" spirit and a desire to “keep her hands busy.” Whether she is organizing the warehouse, styling clients, or using her multilingual skills to interpret career appointments, Dina ensures every woman feels seen and empowered. A versatile and reliable ambassador, she approaches every task with grace. We are incredibly grateful for her quiet strength and unwavering dedication to our mission.

The Versatile Volunteer Award: Lorene Philips

Lorene Philips is the ultimate "go-to" volunteer at DFSA. With years of dedicated service, she handles everything from transporting bulk donations to managing inventory for major seasonal sales. Known for her "add it to my tab" attitude, Lorene meets every last-minute request with flexibility and a sense of humor. Her joyful spirit and reliability make her an essential pillar of our mission to empower women.

Liz Bronson is a powerhouse volunteer whose versatility has transformed DFSA. Known for her ambition and grace, she leads by example—helping every client believe in their own potential. Even as her own career thrives, Liz remains a dedicated advocate and mentor. We were proud to celebrate her as the embodiment of empowerment.
