Canvas is a website and mobile application that is conventionally used in college settings where students and teachers can do classwork online. Think of it like a digital classroom and folder.

We will be using Canvas—our “Success Portal” to:

• Register for virtual program sessions (Financial Wellness, Veteran Support, EmpowerHER) 

• Schedule virtual career appointments 

• Register for in-person program sessions (excluding Professional Styling and Career Coaching)

• Access past workshops through recordings

• Help guide clients through DFSA’s programs to maximize their experience with the organization

• In-person styling and career appointments: Scheduling an appointment will continue to take place on the DFSA website. 

• In-person program events will still continue to happen, but as mentioned above, registration will be accessed through Canvas

• P2E will keep the same application process.

• See our Program Schedule to register for upcoming Success Portal Onboardings! These sessions will walk you through how to access the portal and all it currently has to offer.

• DFSA will walk clients through every step of the onboarding process when the time comes, and our staff will be available to help get participants started.

Over the past year, the demand for DFSA’s services has grown, and with it, we’ve seen the need for a more centralized and seamless way to:

• Host all of our virtual workshops in one place

• Streamline program registration and participation

• Better understand how participants use DFSA’s programs

On Canvas we will be be able to have:

• Workshop Hub: View past workshops at any time to better suit busy schedules

• Pathways: Learning tracks to help clients reach their career goals faster

• Badges: Opportunities to earn recognition for completing certain programs (Add to resume or share on LinkedIn!)
