The Fresch Family

Shilda Fresch was placed into foster care at five years old. Now she and her husband, Venard, are determined to keep their growing family together, even when that means taking in five adopted and foster children. This inspiring family needs our help.

Shilda is the primary breadwinner of the family, but during the pandemic, she has seen her work hours dramatically cut. She reports that most months her post-tax income lingers around $100/month. The cost of food, housing, medical care, transportation, student loans and mental healthcare have started to compound their already stressful financial situation. Despite the direness of their situation, Shilda continues to persevere and take any opportunity that she is given to create a better future for her family.
