Dress for Success Austin – Success Members Attendance Policy

 Purpose:

We want every woman who walks through our doors to get the full support she deserves. To make that happen, we need everyone to honor their appointments, so our time, resources, and volunteers can be prepared.

1. Appointment Expectations

  • Clients arrive on time for all scheduled appointments.

  • Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early so services can start on time.

2. If You Need to Cancel or Reschedule

  • You must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.

  • Cancellations can be made by phone, text, or email.

Why: Last-minute no-shows block time another woman could have used. We run with limited volunteers, so your communication is important.

3. Missed Appointments (No-Show Policy)

If a client misses an appointment without notice, the following steps will be taken:

First Missed Appointment:

  • You will receive a reminder about our policy and be asked to confirm your next appointment.

  • No penalty — just accountability.

Second Missed Appointment:

  • Future appointments may be limited to “same-week availability only,” meaning you can still get services, but you will not be able to book far in advance. Members must call in to make this appointment.

  • This keeps our schedule equal for all clients.

Third Missed Appointment:

  • Appointment privileges may be paused for 30 days.

  • You will be welcome to return after reconnecting with staff for a quick check-in on scheduling and availability

  • If you have an appointment within the 30 days and this appointment is missed you will not be able to reschedule for 6 months

This is not punishment — it is protection of limited resources and respect for every woman who is also waiting for services.

4. Late Arrivals

  • Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in your appointment being shortened or rescheduled. This will depend on staff capacity.

  • We will do our best, but we cannot delay the next client.

5. Emergency Exceptions

We understand that life happens — with kids, work, transportation, and health issues.

  • If you experience a genuine emergency, contact us as soon as possible.

  • Staff will document it as an “excused” absence.

6. Moving Forward

This policy helps us stay organized, serve more women, and make sure every Success Member's time and dignity are respected. Clear expectations help everyone win.
