Foundation Communities Prosper Centers: Summer Tax Season is Upon Us!

Prosper Tax Help is excited to continue helping community members with their taxes as we resume our tax preparation services in June! Starting June 23rd through October 15th, our Tax Help team is prepared to help community members with the following:   

  • Filing and correcting current and prior year income tax returns 

  • Responding to IRS letters 

  • Applying for and renewing ITINs 

We will be open for in-person services at our two Prosper Centers on the following days/times: 

  • Tuesdays 12pm – 6pm    

  • Thursdays 9am – 3pm 

  • One Saturday a month (7/25, 8/29, 9/26, 10/10) 9am-1pm 

Appointments will be available to schedule at ProsperTaxHelp.org beginning June 8th.

TVC’s Women Veterans Program has combined forces with valued community partners to present: Operation H.O.P.E Resilient Warrior, a virtual 17k and a Virtual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Observance in support of the military and veteran community.

Participants are encouraged to email proof of participation, photos, and or short videos to sharron.stewart@tvc.texas.gov no later than noon September 20th in order to be included in a slideshow that will be shown during the observance on 9-25-2026 and to be eligible for gift card and prize drawings.

 The virtual Suicide Prevention Observance will be held on September 25th via Zoom at 10:30 AM.  Registration link is below.

Parents Night Out at The Domain

CARE is excited to host another respite event on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 PM at Dirdie Birdie and the Museum of Illusions in The Domain!

Please share the attached flyer with your clients—we'd love to see them there! Children will enjoy an evening of fun, activities, and dinner at the Museum of Illusions, while parents can relax across the street at Dirdie Birdie for a round of mini golf and dinner. We have enough spots for 20 parents and 30 kiddos!

This event is open to children ages 7–14. If families have children outside of this age range, they may be able to use respite services for those children so the rest of the family can participate. If anyone is interested in accessing respite, please encourage them to reach out to me. We will be happy to provide all the information they need to access respite funds.

Step 1: Attend an Information Session

Attend one of four information sessions to learn more about the requirements to apply for U.S. citizenship. Attorneys from American Gateways will be present to answer questions about your eligibility. You will also receive a checklist with the documents and information you will need to prepare for the Citizenship Clinic.

After attending an information session and confirming you are eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship, attend the Citizenship Clinic. The first 50 people will get FREE one-on-one assistance completing the N-400 application for naturalization. Bring the documents and information you will need to complete the N-400 application.

Iglesia Bautista Principe de Paz hosts an annual Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving Day.

This event occurs on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm.

Participants can walk in to have the Thanksgiving meal on site or pick up a meal in a to-go container. To-go meals will be distributed in to-go containers at the church parking lot in a drive-thru and walk-thru event.

The event will be held both indoors and outdoors with live music for visitors to enjoy.

Thanksgiving Eve Dinner by: Calvary Episcopal Church

Event Details:

  • An in-person, sit-down Thanksgiving Eve Dinner for the community at the Parish Hall.

  • Attendees may take to-go boxes home after the meal.

  • Church volunteers may deliver Thanksgiving meals to homes of eligible Bastrop residents.

    • Residents must request a meal delivery in advance.

    • Allows people to come to the Parish Hall during designated hours and take a “to-go” meal home.

    • Visit the Parish Hall at 1028 Main St., Bastrop, TX on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. to receive a Thanksgiving meal in person.

Meal Delivery Information:

Eligible recipients include:

  • Older adults

  • Individuals who are homebound

  • Individuals lacking transportation to attend the in-person meal

These individuals may call the church office in advance to request a Thanksgiving meal delivered to their home.

Delivery Requirements:

  • All meal delivery requests must be made before Thanksgiving, though it is recommended to call as early as possible.

  • Meals will be delivered to homes on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m.

  • All meal delivery requests should be made no later than Monday, November 10, 2025, during church office hours:

    • Mon–Thurs, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • If you leave a voicemail, staff will return calls by the next business day.
